Back when I was a teenager I worked at a Taco Bell in Arizona. We used to do shots of the Mountain Dew syrup straight from the bags in back. One shot is probably like drinking 20 Mountain Dew's or something. We were all running around like Cornholio from Beavis and Butthead. :laugh2:

As far as this case though, I'm curious what the previous 2 strikes were. Since I don't trust anything in the news anymore, I'm not going to be the least bit surprised if it turns out strike 1 and 2 are rape and robbery. But who knows? Maybe he took too many samples from Costco on his way to a Christian prayer group.

I understand why you wouldn't just automatically buy into anything you see in mass media, that's for sure. You always were a sharp kind of guy... :thumb:

But his criminal record is a matter of public record. And so what we have is this: somewhere around a decade ago he was convicted for retail theft... and then he was convicted for the same offense for ripping off a pair of shoes back in 2011.

ETA: Holy shit, I'd literally pay money to see what happens to teenagers who do straight shots of Dew Juice like that. Buzzy the Hummingbird! :laugh2:

Wow!
That's where the three strikes law is pretty harsh.
Somehow minor offenses are gonna have dire consequences for the individual but also
cost a whole lotta money for the taxpayers.

Community work should be in order.

Shoulda gone with a Faygo Moon Mist. You get an additional 4 oz, and it’s only something like $1.09. No, Mr Fancy Pants just had to get the name brand, didn’t he?

Until the merchant has agreed the sale and rung it up the shopper can not remove the item from the premises because otherwise it is theft. Regardless of how much he paid his arrogance is what got him convicted.

Well that does seem overly harsh for 3 small thefts.

How is it theft? What is your basis for claiming this?

He has multiple arrests/charges from previous shoplifting incedents. In other words; 3 strikes, you're out.

Because he's a RO, the last one is being treated as a felony.

Regardless of the law or the reason, sentencing someone to 7 years for a third petty theft is BS.

His rap sheet is longer than that.

Link?

All I can find is that he did a drive-off gig at a gas station about a decade ago, then in 2011 was busted for ripping off a pair of shoes... he paid about 800+ bucks in fees and fines... but that's all I can find that pertains to his criminal record.

One article mentioned a pending case, involving his wife, of theft of good from a Hobby Lobby. Supposedly, he is applying for pre-trial diversion. I suppose it depends on the definition of "rap sheet."
