Fake News.

I can tell because you said "Deep Purple Machine Head" and "too loud" in the same post.

As for "loud enough"? If you're not getting complaints from your neighbors about DIMMING THEIR LIGHTS WHEN THE BASS KICKS IN, it's not too loud.

;)

When I said too loud, I meant too loud for the equipment. I'm no stranger to loudness, I've mixed a lot of live rock shows with monster sized PAs!

What are you considering for new speakers?

About 6 years ago I bought some materials to build a pair of electrostatic speakers with a transmission line woofer design. But I got too busy and it got shelved. I may just do that.

Just an observation, but teh wiminz seem to like the bass.

Maybe re-cone the existing speakers, and cross them over at 120Hz with some powered subs added from 20ish to 120.

That'll rattle her jewelry.

sounds like you are blessed with a cool wife.at least shes not crankin the partridge family...
Are you kidding!? I had to listen to three nights of non-stop partridge family after David Cassidy died. Mrs. G was a huge fan....even when she was in the record business, celebrities didn't faze her at all. Me "how was you day today dear" ...Mrs. G "it was OK, I had to pick up Paul McCartney at the airport...gee the traffic was murder" :eek2:

But the one time she worked with Cassidy she was like a flippin 13 year old :hyper:

I think you're right. Whenever I check the stereo settings she's got the bass cranked all the way up!

Yeah those things are neat! Wouldn't work for her though cause she's always up and dancing. Great for drummers though, attached to their throne.

Several months ago I did something similar just for fun but not high-powered. Way exceeded my expectations.

E-stats are killer above 5K hz. All they need is a good mid-bass and sub.
