Any of you guys own a Charvel So Cal or San Dimas ?
Ive understand they are made by Fender down on the border as of late.
Never seen one in a store, very few for sale online

My question is,how close are they to Fender Stratocasters ?
Are the bodies the same size? They sure resemble a Strat body
I've heard the necks are not as wide as a Strat

Anyone ? :hmm:

I had a 2008 made in Japan Socal. The body is pretty much the same as a strat and the neck has a pretty small profile. I have smaller hands and so it was a perfect fit. I traded it for a Peavey 6505+ and I kind of regret it. I would say if you dig super strats with floyd roses, I'd get a socal/san dimas.

I got me a Kramer pacer classic (spent a ton on upgrades, Gotoh Floyd and SD San Dimas set) a couple of years ago as I couldn't afford a San Dimas back then. It improved what was a decent cheap guitar... however just bought a 2016 San dimas an it's much much better. Flawless instrument and very versatile. Can get stratty sones with split neck pup.

Is that the Neon Pink, or Rocket Red?

I can't really tell on my screen, but I want a Neon Pink like nobodies business!

When I got mine and plugged it in, I realized I've been missing something my entire guitar playing life. Now, all I think about is getting more. I've started thinking about selling my other guitars because they don't play as easy or sound as good. Seriously.

I've got 2 at the moment... A white SD MIJ and a Cherry Burst SDMIM. Both are extremely awesome guitars. I plan on pulling the trigger on a Neon Pink SD in the next month or so and a a Slime Green SoCal early next year...

As I said, I LOVE these guitars...

I still have a MIJ Model 6 from 1987 that I bought new. At the time, they were so much better than anything Fender and Gibson were putting out.

I was browsing the Sweetwater site and I clicked on the Pink San Dimas, then looked at other stuff and went back to look at the Pink again. In just a span of a couple minutes a demo happened to pop up for $739.00! :wow::rock::headbanger::jam::dude:.

Then I clicked and it was gone.

I'm thinking the Pink is really popular.

Maybe the Pinks and other pastel and bright colors are trending again. Fender just added Canary Diamond and Shell Pink to their Duo Sonic/Mustang line up at summer NAMM.

The Slime Green San Dimas is awesome as well.

Disagree if you want, but Slime Green and Neon Pink and Neon Yellow and the Rocket Red would look cool with matching headstocks. :hmm:

My first guitar buy when I moved to the Seattle area was a Charvel 375. That's how I found Guitar Forums. I was hooked. I had to have more.

It's rocket red but more like fluoro red with a splash of orange, the colour itself varies with the light. I took this pic from with the morning sunlight streaming in my living room window (rare in the U.K.).

Wow! A lot of nice looking guitars in here!

The wood and paint is amazing!

I only had a San Dimas Jackson Dinky a few years back but I've looked at these more than once at my local music store

They stock them!

And @THDNUT that Carvin quilt is gorgeous!

Well that's just plain mean! Beautiful specimens.

+1:thumb: Agreed!

This all I got, sorry OP! I can't play but I can watch! :jam:
