Double NGD! '07 & '08 Hamer Standard Custom

So I've always been a pretty diehard Gibson guy, my top two being Les Pauls and Explorers.
But recently I was on the hunt for a trans black explorer, so naturally I went looking for an '02 Explorer Pro, which seemed like unobtainium.
I used to own a '07 Explorer Pro in sunburst and I didn't like the smaller size so it got sold.
So I googled... found this trans black Hamer that conorb had, which was a special 5 guitar run by Willcutt Guitars, and I figured he'd never sell that...

So I PM'd BCRGreg, being the Hamer guru he is, and he directed me to the Hamer Fan Club forum.
I posted a WTB ad there and low and behold Conor PM'd me and said he would be willing to let go of his trans black standard.
Uh, SOLD!

Anyways, that Standard gave me some serious Hamer gas and I had to have another.
So I found this '08 Standard at Elderly Instruments, sold some Gibby's (still got some for sale!), and now she's mine!
Unbelievable craftsmanship on these guitars, I am literally blown away with them.
I'm just sad that now I'm getting into Hamer's they are no longer going to be made. That's life I guess.

Now that's the way to do it. Love, love, love my Hamers. Great guitars, and the Standard is at the top of the heap. One of these days I'll get one, but for now I enjoy my Hamer Blitz.

The definitive illustrated Hamer history book is coming out in a month or two. There's tons of great info, stories and of course, eye candy...
