Hey Guys

I'm downsizing...got a huge kitchen remodel going on and our water heater blew...yadda yadda.

So here's the scoop...

This is a 2004 Dave Johnson Refinished R9. I sent this 2004 R9 to Dave Johnson for a top refinish. Dave shot the matched color of the original 59 "Nicky" that he had been working on with Charlie Daughtry and Mark Bishop. I know there was one little Nicky that Charlie got, then also one that Mark did in the color, mine was done shortly thereafter with the same color mix.

Dave then went and did some weather checking and aging on the top and also added a bit of wear etc on the rest of the guitar. The rest of the guitar has the stock Gibson finish which in 2004 was a fairly thin and hard nitro. Dave also did a more redish color underneath the pickguard and the poker ship-the unfaded areas.

Guitar has the Dave Johnson/HM inlays as well as newer style Kluson tuners. It also has a Wizz pickup selector chip and Monster Relic Knobs. Upgraded pots and caps with Burstbucker pickups. Comes shipped in newer Gibson Brown Historic case. Weight is 8lb 14oz.

I have all the email correspondence with Dave regarding the work he did of this guitar including photos he sent me while it was at his shop. Dave doesn't do that much work anymore so it's a fairly rare piece.

I have a lot more photos of this guitar so message me if you want more. These photos were taken in indirect natural light and you can still see that this guitar has some killer maple. For any other questions or an in hand tone description feel free to call or text me 408 761 3070 email: joebuchwald@gmail.com

Price is $6500 Shipped with Burstbuckers. Payment can be negotiated. If using paypal we can split fees or something. NO TRADE OFFERS PLEASE

yes the guitar has aging throughout to blend in with the top. The back is also a lighter faded red color. However checking is only on top. It definitely feels like one cohesive guitar, the back matches the front :thumb:
