Les Paul Alternate Tuning Question

Hey guys i have my 2004 Epiphone Les Paul Standard in Ebony and its fucking awsome, felt better than every other Les paul at guitar center including Gibsons, no joke! Anyway here's my question:

i know the stock string gauge is 10-46 in standard tuning, if i want to put my guitar UP 1/2 a step into F standard tuning, could i just throw on some 9-42 gauge and will that be good to keep the same tension? thanks guys!

Should be no problems, you may have to make some slight adjustments to the set-up. You could even go as light as 8s if you wanted to.
