Hi, I'm from Italy so forgive any grammar error. I'm a proud owner of a 2008 Les Paul Custom.

I always assumed that my LP has a Slim Taper neck, because is noticeably slimmer that all the different LP that I tried in my life such as other Customs, Standard and Historic...Sure is slimmer that the 2008 STD that I had (and sold).

Yesterday I was talking with my friend at the guitar center in my town, and he won't believe that I have a Custom with a Slim Taper, as he says that all the Custom have a medium or 50's neck.

So I'm asking any expert if you can shed light on this discussion! Thanks!

I would use a tape measure from edge to edge of the binding, too.

ok, i've measured from the back to the wood of the first fret and it's more or less 19.5 mm, so even less of the 0.800'' that i read is the official slim taper measure!

I have a 2006 Custom, I'm pretty sure it is a 50's rounded type neck. I've played 60's slim taper necks, and I'm fairly sure it's not that.

They are hand shaped so they do vary a little
