I'm in need of some help, and opinions, choosing a new amp for myself.
though it isn't much, i have $200 - $250 to spend, and i'm looking for either a tube or hybrid, COMBO amp.

i don't want a solid state, and i definitely want a combo, for the convenience of hauling it around from time to time.
I'm looking for something i can get mid, to high gain settings from, without pedals.

any suggestions?
i was looking at the Crate V18 212 when those were still selling at $199, but that offer doesn't seem to be around any longer...

thanks.

The Crate is a very cool amp, sounds very British and Creamy. I think if it cost a $1000.00 people would show it more respect. Try Craiglist for a cheap Fender, there out there. I saw a Riveria Era Concert (60 watt all tube) for $200 a few weeks back. epi Valve Jr. works well too..

hmm. is the Valve Junior Combo loud enough to practice, and maybe even gig (mic'd up) with my drummer?

volume is an important factor here too. i need something a noticeable amount louder than my current, solid state, practice amp...
