Hi guys! Let me share my happiness with all of you on this joyful day! :thumb: Well, it all started a few years ago, 1998 i guess, when I got my first guitar: A LP Studio, in wine red. Well, that finish didn't last long, as the guitar fell off its stand and broke the neck. The luthiers here were all awful back then, and did a terrible job mending the neck and refinishing it. So, over the years I tried different luthiers and different colors, only to be let down over and over again... until today! Finally I found this guy, who did a tremendous job refinishing my studio! It looks even better now than when I first bought it! It's some sort of honeyburst, but not quite.

And, by the time he finished, I'd already got myself a new Les Paul! A 2008 Standard in Light Burst. Beautiful guitar! Felt like christmas morning when I got it!

The honeyburst looks really good on the Studio. Nice pair you have there!

Next one is gonna be a white studio... or a black custom... or a r9... I can't make up my mind!

Pardon my noob-ness to this board, but I see "NGD" used often. What does it stand for?

Or New Gear Day, but on THIS forum, it's pretty much New Guitar Day.

Should it be New Gibson Day? :hmm:

That first one looks like it has binding, but it's got a Studio TRC, what's up with that? I will be amazed if that's just the maple cap showing. Fantastic refinish BTW.

It's a studio allright. What you see there is a faux binding, just a part of the maple top left unpainted. The way they did it you can see it up front, so it looks even more like a regular binding.

Nice, that's about exactly what I want to do with my wine red studio. Maybe even less dark around the edge of the burst. I really dig the wrapped over the top faux binding.
