I don't think your post provided enough details. We need more details! Hey, that's a great score! I like the price of these compared to a Standard which I feel is unreal. I already own two LP's (Gibby Studio & Epi Standard), but a Traditional is a guitar I've been thinking about alot and is just as good as a Standard, IMHO. Congrats!

You can easily polish the satin finish into a high gloss finish with some elbow grease, or even use a buffer wheel. At least you are not paying an extra $1,000+ for a high gloss finish compared to a satin finish.

But ... satin is so cool, it doesn't take as long to get old looking.

It is for sure! I like both finishes, especially satin. And what I like even better is the price! And it will gloss up over time. It's just a matter of time. And most people are starting to prefer satin now, especially on the Traditional which has grain-fillers compared to some rougher satin finishes on other guitars.

I just like the way they get shiny where I sweated on them.
Kinda like polishing without the effort.
You could call it easy aging, in reverse.
The only places the guit looks new is where you sweat all over it.
The rest looks old in comparison.
