I have 2007 a les paul standard faded. I got it in 2007 and haven't made any adjustments to it, it's all stock as it was they day I got it. I love the sound with one exception. The bridge pickup, seems to pickup everything, every time my palm touches the bridge or slightly rubs against the strings, just about any movement causes extra sound. Maybe that's just the way Les Paul's are, I have never owned one before. It has burst buster pro pickups, maybe adjusting the height of the bridge pickup will solve it, but I don't want to loose a ton of volume. Anyone else experience this type of thing?

Hmm. Are the grounds all intact? Picking up stuff like touching hardware seems hinky.

But, It could be that the pups are just hot/sensitive

I don't see any reason why the grounds would not be intact, but I guess I should check.

Try palm muting, then see if the any of the strings
Hit the pole pieces of the bridge humbucker.
This happens a lot when people try to raise the bridge pup.
It might be set too high, so drop it down a tad.
Just remember, every time you palm mute,
You're pushing down on the strings quite a bit.
If that's not it, then try to specify what kind of noise you get.
Good luck

Perhaps the ground that goes from the controls to the bridge post isn't making contact? Could be a matter of pulling the post and making sure it's making contact. It's a matter of the wire just touching the post.

But idk. I don't think that bb pros are that hot, ya know? Of it's just a recent thing then I doubt pickup/polepiece will matter.
