Just watched an interesting 7 minute documentary. Please note that this is not a uniquely religious thing. It's an interesting thing to learn about in music history and a massively important portion of the USAs musical heritage.
I've been involved in a very outlying way with Sacred Harp people. It's a beautiful artform that transports you to the beginnings of music in our country. It's also populated with some of the nicest most giving people I know. Enjoy the documentary and learning (or rediscovering) an important portion of our musical evolution.
