I bet everyone remembers the first time they saw Jaws though and the "We need a bigger boat scene" happened. When that shark came out of the water every person in the theatre screamed, jumped and slammed into the backs of their seats.

I saw it at a drive-in up in Cadillac Michigan in August of 1975 with a car load of cousins. We could have used a bigger car also.

Because even the Hollywood smoothbrains realize that's a terrible idea. The SFX would benefit from an update, but that's about three minutes of run time. Everything else would be screwed up beyond belief.

Not Geo is celebrating it now too.

I noticed that, except Nat Geo has shows about sharks instead of Honey Boo Boo vs Khloe Kardashian Shark Makeover Competition or whatever. Discovery's programming has been unwatchable since the fake megalodon documentary and the celebrity invasion.
