Firestone-Walker makes good beers. I'm not big on that much spice, which their pale ale has, but it has nice body.

They don't spice their beer AFAIK... (Dogfish does... Yuck MHO) They age in oak barrels that contained wine or whiskey and sometimes... firestone beer.

"I'd kill everyone in this room for one drop of sweet beer" - Homer Simpson. :laugh2:

Wow, we have similar tastes for beer. I was just drinking Franziskaner at my in-laws on Easter. And a week ago finished up some Blue Moon Honey Wheat, loved it.

Ever have Flying Fish or Victory Beers? 2 of my favorites....

HopDevil | Victory Brewing Company

Hopfish IPA - Flying Fish

Just killed the last of the Hop Devil tonight.

There is an Italian beer that is great I just can not remember what it is for the life of me.

Peroni by any chance? This is another one of my favorites. I just realized I have a LOT of favorite beers! :laugh2:

Hefeweizen is one of my favorite styles. It's hard to beat a cold Guinness too. My favorite though, is Chimay...it's freakin awesome.

Now that you're in to the whole thing, you should buy the supplies and brew your own Jomo Stout or some other style of beer.

Funny you should say that. I went to a Vegan Restaurant with the wife yesterday and all they had were high alcohol beers (probably some weird TN permit problem), but I had a Yazoo SUE, which was a lot like a Guiness, but after I choked that down, I went back up and ordered a Chimay White. It was pretty darn good. I'd buy it again for sure.

I want to get into home brew at some point, one of my best friends won some big time award two years running for home brew, so I'd have a good teacher. Anyway, you made me think of this..... I actually bought a sixer of it because of the name. I didn't care for it much, a bit nutty and dry.

Are there any home brewers on the forum? I've been at it for about 10yrs now. God bless the world of ALES! Not into lager, I like my brews (and store bought ones) to be full of malt and hop flavor. Luckily there are a ton of great ones out there and more every day. If anyone needs any advice or has questions on where to begin, let me know. Beer talk is just as fun as guitar talk! Jomo, I'll join you group...

I am, but am in between brewing systems atm. I had a bucket system going, but it was too cumbersome, so I'm looking at investing some real money into a self designed system once I buy my R7.

Luckily in the mean time I can go to this restaurant/brewery called BrewItUp where they have all the equipment to brew beer and you can just go use their stuff. They also take care of the whole fermenting process for you.

I think I like Spaten
beer-girls-big.jpg

You know, you pointing it out is the first time I noticed there is a brand on those beermugs. :)

I like beer. But I'm pretty happy with just a Grolsch. Don't really feel the need to try other stuff.
Although a weissen or maybe a corona type beer sitting outside a cafe in summertime is pretty tasty too.
