Hello from Europe (BELGIUM) !!

BEing the proud and happy owner of the BACCHUS guitars (Duke Std in tobacco suburst and Duke Master in black oiled), I was tempted by a TOKAI Love ROck LS-230 with 2 pieces Koa top...You know, one of the three from a famous japanese seller (on ebay, a great guy !)...

Do you think that those model is far superior in term of craftmanship, of wood selected, of sound...?

Do you think it's worth 1750 dollars ?!

Despite the whole comment about TOKAI quality...Others japanese people has told me that there is others great company producing LES PAUL Replica (Momose, Navigator,etc...).

Thanks for help !!!!

Max.

Welcome mhoyoux. You should know that pictures are mandatory here so why don't you show us what the guitar looks like. I don't own one but I've heard nothing but good about Tokai. Other members here will surely guide you on the price.

Congrats ... although I didn't see any pic ... :hmm:

Tokais are in a separate world IMO nowadays ... either you love the old ones ('79-'85) as I do ...
... or you have to pay a huge amount for a currently manufactured guitar ...
Tokai hype had been increasing during the last 5 years, because they've done an excellent manufacturing job then and are keeping an excellent job these days ...
So you've got what you've paid for ... period.

I was also very interested in the Tokai Koa tops (see my earlier post). I ended up buying a Bacchus Duke instead.

Here are Pics of the LS 230 that I almost bought from Hisashi:

I'm talking about that model (and the other 2 ones...)

I'm very tempted by this one...At TOAKI, they seem to do a great luthery job on their guitars...Same great job like BACCHUS ?!?!

There will be lots of difference between BACCHUS Duke model and TOKAI LS-230 ?! Please, give me your opinion...

I don't know if I have to save money to buy a NAVIGATOR Les Paul or a TOKAI Ls-320/380...

I would go LS-380 no doubt but just remember you are paying a lot of money for a great speced guitar. I love my LS-320 and I haven´t find any guitar as good as mine, and I´m including some old Tokais too.

You can look for a LS-180 with honduras mahogany body as a good option for half of the price too.Very rare model however.

Bacchus seemed to be good. I was looking at high end model and It´s not all laquer finish.
Very tempted!
