Hey all

I recently acquired a Marshallhead with the A2 magnet and need to get a neck pup to go with it. I could get a Marshallhead neck but I'm wondering if anyone has tried it with a Dr. Vintage neck?

Any other suggestions?

Yes, talk to Wolfe! ;)

He'll guide you through the best possible p'up to match the Marshallhead with the sound YOU have in mind.

The MH/DrV combo is great. Lots of versatility. Some nice punch in the bridge, and wonderful cleans and subtlty in the neck.
Lotta people going that route these days.

Wolfe, how radically different would the above be lets say compared to a set of Legends? I recall playing two guitars that sounded freakishly similar, both superb, and both had Legends. The guitars were a Gustavson Bluesmaster and a Briggs that had a Korina back and neck. Anyway, just curious where they might sit in the mix compared to the MHs or MH/DR V combo.

The Marshallhead will be very different than the Legend.

The Dr. Vintage, generally similar output to a Legends neck, but the Dr. V is a little more subtle and laid back, sweeter. Legends neck has more bite.

Keep in mind, the Legends vary quite a bit based on a loose idea of what someone is looking for -- bite vs. smooth, higher or lower output, etc.

The stuff I do for Johan and other builders using Legends-based pickups are made especially for each builder, based on what they want.
