This is a a pro level guitar. Dont think Tokai or Epi....think Gibson and PRS! It has a lovely neck and not tacky at all. The action is low and I havent needed to touch it. Every note is true.

I'm not sure that a single review on Harmony Central qualifies as a guarantee of quality. Also, since there was only one review, probably nobody bid on the guitar because nobody's heard of them.

Fret King is supposed to be a good brand. It was Trev. Wilkinson's brand before he pitched in with JHS to revamp the Vintage brand etc.

Some of the Fret Kings are made in his custom shop (?) in the UK, though I'd guess that the eclat is one of the Korean made ones.

I'm not sure if the first link is valid, but just in case, here it is again. Fret King Eclat with Gig Bag on eBay (end time 01-Jan-10 09:09:31 GMT)

So is it really comparable to a Gibson and PRS like the seller claims?

So you don't know yet initially laugh at the comment!!!!!! When I saw them at a music fair I would say yes they are, would buy the firebird type right away if it was cheap enough.

No it wasn't. If you click on the link it says item removed, I can't comment on the listing prior to that, perhaps it was removed becuase the seller ended the listing early to sell to someone.

I typed in the item number. The listing ended with no bidders and at 100 euros. Anyone could've won it if they bid.

Where does it say item removed? I can only see it saying that bidding has finished on this item with no bids. It was in my watch list from some ago, and I just looked through the finished auctions now.

When I click on the link, it only says "This listing () has been removed, or this item is not available."

It seems that the link didn't cut and paste properly. Try this link.

Edit: Still not working. The link itself is OK, but it seems that MLP is munging the link when I post it on the forum. The item number is: 270507847236

That price, if it's a new guitar, is still relatively cheap. They're quite frequently up for £700 or so.

Given the relisting, I suspect that the previous auction didn't just run through with no bids. Maybe the guitar was going to sell for an infeasibly cheap price, and the seller cancelled the bids and stopped the auction early. Or something.

He'd had it up for £600 or best offer until the 29th of December. Then two days later the £100 auction finished with no bidders. That's a quite quick turnaround.

Fret King Eclat with Gig Bag on eBay (end time 29-Dec-09 16:55:49 GMT)

This link discusses the company. I didn't know about the Tokai connection. http://www.mi-pro.co.uk/features/31/COMPANY-PROFILE-Fret-King

Edit: This thread was meant to discuss the guitar, not become a conversation on ebay selling practices.

Hello
I guess you sold the Eclat by now?
If not - I'm very interested.
Cheers
Bob
