Here's some info on that model...

You were right Thump, mahogany with a maple cap and I learn a bit about wood and not the type I get in the Afterhours section

nice one!
enjoy!

Hey right on HB! Thanks!

OK I have been having some fun with this BEAST through my gear:dude::dude:This is a HUGE, FAT sounding animal, with mucho bite but nice clarity. I've been practicing AC/DC, Black Sabbath and my own riffs all afternoon.

But I just had a sweet time just practicing chords with a tremelo effect I get with my Electric Mistress. The chord progression is meant to have a crisp and stark sound and by tapping the coils (is that what you call it?) it had created a very glassy, spooky tone, almost like something you could play in old b&w horror films. Very cool, almost like another guitar within this axe-bonus!!:):):):thumb::thumb:

:lol::lol::lol: Thanks! I know, it is a tank-9.4 lbs. However, my MIJ LP is also a solid beast so I'm pretty used to it.

This SG is sweet on the back as it's contoured where the guitar sits up against your abs (in my case, flabs). I'm a puss who doesn't like the feel of the LP up against the rib cage nor have it hang like Page. Maybe I just need to shed a few lbs. :lol:I also like the strap pin at the heel, gives is a very balanced feel for me.

Yeah, the belly cut is a great little feature. I don't mind the lack of one on an LP, but it does make quite a difference over the course of a night's playing.

A friend of mine just bought an SG like yours. I was playing it, and the feel is quite a bit like my old Ibanez Artist - which is understandable, because they both came out of the same plant in Japan.

That's a quality piece you've got there. I'm sure it's gonna blow you away once you plug it into an amp and let it fly.

Thanks again! I was through an amp this afternoon, but the missus was working upstairs. I'm thankful for the MV dial on my amp:lol:

I LOVE THIS GUITAR! MAKES ME FEEL LIKE PRIMAL MAN!

ROAR!!:dude::dude::dude:

If it had Gibson on the headstock I think it would make you feel like a real man Hugo.
Looks good tho for a ricer but Rock n Roll is spelt GIB......

Thanks nap! I would say it is. I must admit that I have been drawn towards just blastin' out some nice chunky power chords which is what this guitar is perfect for:applause: I'm looking forward to jamming Saturday morning with the boys from the cover band I was in before the drummer and I got sick. We haven't played for a while so I was going through some of the old set, mix of AC/DC, Motorhead, Stones, Ramones, Stooges. These p/ups are so hot, but they got a lot of warmth, perfect for this mix, pretty much how I like to sound trying to cover the rhythm parts
