How many dB do these things put out?

I don't know... but the windows and my friend's drums in the studio are shaking like crazy because of its loudness....

I realize now that I was stupid enough to let the amp cranked right behind me (plus the monitor in front of me) for full 2 hours...

Great idea...next time I will make "Cranked Amp" video series and post it on Youtube :laugh2:
One guy said he already did that:

Cool!!!

Blackface Fender's are hard to beat. I use the higher headroom versions (Super Reverb and Twin Reverb) as I need the clean headroom for dirt pedals required for my gig but any Blackface is cool with me. I love DRs. I'd love to have one for home and jam use.

I'm planning on trying to find SOME type of Fender amp on vacation week after next when I go to Nashville. I'm shooting for a Tweed Champ or perhaps maybe a Deluxe Reverb or something like that. Something I can use here in the studio. I can crank here and at jams, but for my gigs I need the versatility of the clean amp + dirt pedal combination.

Yeah man... I was Marshall + Les Paul only guy...

But now I fully realize that Fender Blackface amps are killers for blues !

No clue.

I have mine set up with an extension cabinet, and it laughs at 50 watt half-stacks.

My Rude Mood, which is 2 amps, could prolly take on a 100 watter.

If you find a good deal on a vintage DR, it goes without saying that you should snag it.

That said, given your idols, you need a Champ. :thumb: I was there, that's what they used.

As much as I'm tempted to call you out for being a sissy/faggot...

You are absolutely right, brother. I'm super ****in' lucky to have just "a bit" of tinnitus. Take good care of your ear canals, and don't allow ANYONE to **** with that.

diggin' the "mean" mudfinger :thumb:

I say some seriously ****ed up shit when I drink, huh?. :laugh2: Hopefully, Paul will accept my friend request; if you missed it, his "Am gay" post in one of the Afterhours threads is worthy of MLP legend. Much respect. :dude:

Hey man, clear your PMs. :D

Is there some way to save them on my hard drive? Way too much funny shit to just delete. :laugh2:

I was just wondering because Fender amps full out so much volume out of their little enclosures. It's magic. :laugh2:

There just couldn't be much in the 100 watt realm that is louder than that 2203 of mine........ That things just not healthy.

That's what I'm thinking as well! A Tweed Champ in particular would be super nice and very portable, which is something I want. Something I can take around and have it be really portable. And I've always wanted a vintage Tweed Champ. I'd love a Tweed Deluxe (ala Don Felder) but those are very, very cashy and out of my budget for this trip. But a Tweed Champ would be very doable. The thing is is to see what they have. There is a Vintage room at the GC in Nashville (one of the 3 in the US IIRC) and they are supposed to have a lot of cool vintage amps so I will have to check it out. Fingers crossed they have a Tweed Champ or something cool like that. :D

I know the sound you're looking for. There's alotta misinformation on the Internet, some deliberate, some the result of faulty memory; my memory is generally for shit, but I can see it my mind's eye even now. You want a Tweed Champ. ;)

Also, a Telecaster.

Tweed Champ, Shure SM57, Sennheiser 421, and you are covered; anything you're looking to hear is a matter of your playing, amp settings, and mic placement.

JFC, I made up mind a long time ago to keep quiet about this shit.

Sometimes I want to try to crank a non master volume 100 watter tube amp to the max... but I think I would need a very thick earplug... :dude:

I've never done that with mine. I get past 3 and I start to feel bad for the neighbors. The timing of your thread is good though - last night I had a dream that I was gigging with a band I'd never even rehearsed with. I didn't know any of their songs, and they were complaining my amp wasn't loud enough. Good to know, back here in reality, the DRRI IS loud enough.:thumb:

it was an eargasem:dude:
all my mates told me TURN IT DOWN!!!!!!!
it was loud, very very loud!
it is so addicting to play the blues in this volume.
problem is if you are in the same room chances are you'll be deaf in a few minutes:laugh2:

My '57 Deluxe clone rattles the windows at 3...I can't crank it for that 'sweet spot' at home, so frustrating.:hmm: Beautiful rich bass tone that truly accentuates whatever guitars tone through it, very, very addictive and inspiring!!!

I've been toying with the idea of buying a attenuator (Dr Z brakelight). Even if I do lose a little magic better to be in the right ball park when i want to roll up the vol pot on my guitar than not at all!?

I've read that you need to change your tubes every 3 months with attenuators..not sure if thats so??

I love that Fender tone with my LP's and Tele's...sure is heaven in your hands!!

Glad you got to enjoy that 'Sweet spot' and record it too!!:applause::applause:

I wouldn't do it in my house either...hahaha...

And I don't think I would do it again soon with the amp only one meter behind me after I read this :

I got to listen to a fender pro reverb in a store once (40 watt silverface twin reverb with a master volume).

The owner of the shop turned it up quite a bit, probably less than halfway though, and I wouldn't be surprised if people 3 blocks away could hear it. The whole shop was vibrating.

It was amazing- wish I picked that amp up, but I had no use for it really (that is the best tube amp sound I have probably heard in store, along with a semi cranked jcm 800)
