A bunch of stupid ****ing pathetic clowns with **** music. Nothing to fear. Enjoy it. :dude:

Daughters across the generations have done the same thing with horrified parents in tow.

I don't really have anything against them...I just can't get into the screaming vocals. You know what I'm talking about...is that someone singing?!?! or a bear caught in a meat grinder kind of vocals. That goes for any band really.

I agree about the screaming vocals, kept me from giving them a chance for years. And they have a dj which is something I never got into.
But the music is really good when given a chance and when he's not screaming the singer has an exceptionally good voice.
Worth giving them a chance IMO. If you don't like it what have you lost?
And you may just have found a band you enjoy with 5 albums worth of material to listen to.

You'll have fun. I saw them at an Ozzfest a long time ago. Had it not been a festival I wouldn't have seen them, but the show was very cool. Glad I saw them, but didn't come away anymore of a fan. This is the perfect situation to go and enjoy yourself seeing a band you otherwise wouldn't.

The crowd won't be any different than the Manson crowd you've seen. Plus it won't matter. I've been to all kinds of shows. All walks of life, every time.

He'll, I'm middle aged pushing towards 50 and I think Slipknot is terrific! Especially the percussion guys on the big metal levitating drums. It's a Hell of a show! You'll either love it or hate it, but you won't be bored!

Yep 2003 I saw Slipknot a Ozzfest as close as anyone could possibly get during a concert to them by sneaking past security to the first few rows of seating. That same concert, I saw Manson and Rob Zombie as well as Sabbath in Columbus, OH. Ive went to Ozzfests from 2000-2003 and Ive seen many bands. I got to see Pantera live (ozzfest 2000) before its end and that was fantastic!

Im not a fan of screaming vocals, but I can take Slipknot simply because you can actually understand his screams or what he's saying. And like one said, he does have a decent voice when he sings. Not like death metal crap where its completely growled out and you cant tell if he's actually saying something or just screaming in agony like many of them do. Enjoy the show!!!:dude:

To me it's the genre of music. It's not my bag at all. I will go to spend time with my daughter, but I will be wearing earplugs and trying not to get high from the pot smoke. lol

That's awesome! My show was in Camden, NJ. I think it was a day where Type-O-Negative played and Queens of the Stone Age. They were on the main stage. I've been to so many that I have to look up the tours and bands to remember. :laugh2: I agree about his vocals. He's no cookie monster.

I also saw Pantera. They were unreal!

EDIT:

I'm getting them mixed up. This is when I saw Pantera. Ozzfest 2000 at Entertainment Centre (Camden) on 22 Jul 2000

This is when I saw Slipknot. Ozzfest 2001 at Tweeter Center (Camden, NJ) on 21 Jul 2001
