It is my understand that you should have a ground wire to the post because of static etc build up on strings...simplistic description...my question is that as far as I can tell my guitar has never had one or at one time it did and its now gone...purchased used...how best to reinstall this ground wire to the post that has already been set...there is a drilled tunnel to the area of the post but no wire coming out to the cavity...

You probably have to pull the stud to do it.
That’s what I did anyway, seemed to be the easiest solution at the time.

thanks everyone...I guess it just par for coarse when you start playing with a 40 yr old guitar...learning is fun though...just for everyones info...if you put a bigsby b7 tremolo on a 1979 Greco EG600P...the stop bar is in a slightly different place than an American made Gibson LP...transferred from my Gibson 1950's Tribute to the fore mentioned guitar and there is slightly more than an 1/8" of space between the guitar and the end at the rear strap button...probably caused by the lack of a ground wire :run:
